Hospice Band 3, Competency Based Framework (24,793 - 26,444 pro rata).
Hours
Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm with 30 minute unpaid break. (flexibility to adjust start time from 8am onwards).

Fixed-Term 12 months - to cover maternity leave

What You'll Be Doing
You'll support the Finance Department by:
Ensuring accurate analysis and processing of financial data in line with internal policies.
Responding promptly to enquiries from suppliers, staff, and donors with clear, timely advice.
Collaborating with finance colleagues to meet financial reporting deadlines.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Securely receiving, counting, banking, and recording all physical income.
Downloading, reconciling, and recording electronic income.
Managing petty cash, miscellaneous banking, and general office duties.
Accurately entering donations into the database and managing Gift Aid declarations.
Ensuring compliance with Gift Aid, Direct Debits, and Data Protection regulations.
Investigating and resolving queries across income streams, including invoicing and online donations.
Processing and reconciling the Purchase Ledger and maintaining supplier communications.
Reconciling bank accounts for both the Hospice and its Trading Company.
The person
You'll bring:
Experience working in an office or finance environment as part of a team.
Strong time management skills and the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
Understanding of financial processes including cash handling, banking, and ledgers.
Experience using accounting software for invoices and journal entries.
Confidence using Microsoft Office (especially Excel, Outlook, and Teams).
A willingness to develop your digital skills as our systems evolve.

The successful candidate will be subject to an Standard DBS Check, the cost of which is covered by the hospice.
Any post holder within the organisation will be expected to undertake safeguarding training appropriate to their role and adhere to safeguarding policies and procedures. All staff must work in accordance with their statutory roles and responsibilities in relation to safeguarding in accordance with the Working Together to Safeguarding Children 2023, The Care Act 2014, and Prevent Duty 2015.
