Job Description
Cullen Kilshaw is the largest law firm in the Scottish Borders, with fourteen dynamic offices across the area. We use modern digital technology to deliver a high-quality legal service to our ever-expanding client base.
We have an immediate opportunity for a part-time Finance Assistant to join our accounts team in the Galashiels branch. This is a permanent position, offering 16-20 hours per week.
You will assist our finance team in supporting the firm with day-to-day financial operations.
Ideally, we are looking for a candidate with a background in accountancy, finance, or bookkeeping. Experience in a legal firm would be an advantage, although this is not essential as training will be provided.
The ideal candidate will:
Have purchase ledger experience Be numerate Be proficient in Microsoft Office programs Have excellent verbal and written communication skills Possess strong organisational skills Be familiar with electronic document management and filing systems Demonstrate a high level of discretion with confidential matters Have strong attention to detail Show a positive, can-do attitude and work well as part of a team
Duties include (but are not limited to):
Processing purchase ledger, including inputting and uploading supplier invoices Liaising with internal teams and external suppliers Inputting and processing payments Reconciling bank and credit card accounts Credit control Scanning documents General file management Bookkeeping Handling telephone enquiries
The starting salary is 12.60 per hour, and will be competitive and commensurate with experience.
