Finance Assistant

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Finance Assistant to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start their career in finance and accounting, as the role offers hands-on experience across a wide range of finance functions.



The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to undertake a finance apprenticeship, gaining professional qualifications alongside valuable workplace experience.

Key Responsibilities



As a Finance Assistant, you will support the Finance Team with day-to-day operations, including:




Managing the purchase ledger, including processing invoices and supplier payments.

Assisting with banking activities and reconciliations.

Preparing and processing payment runs in line with company deadlines.

Supporting the preparation and submission of VAT returns.

Processing and reconciling employee expenses in line with company policy.

Assisting with the annual stock take and related financial reporting.

Providing general support to the Finance Team, including ad-hoc administrative and accounting tasks




We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic and eager to build a career in finance and willing to conplete professional qualification. The ideal candidate will have:




A willingness to undertake a finance qualification (full training will be provided).

Good numeracy and IT skills, with confidence using Microsoft Excel and other office applications.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Good organisational and time-management skills.

A proactive and positive attitude with a willingness to learn.

Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
