FINANCE ASSISTANT

13 MONTH MATERNITY COVER to start 1st August

P/T 22.5 hours per week (3 days per week to be agreed)

We are looking for an experienced finance assistant to join us in August to cover a period of maternity. You will be supporting three complex businesses working as part of a small head office function based in Staunton, Gloucestershire.

We are a care company based near to Cheltenham/Gloucester that is growing and focused on achieving great outcomes for the young people in our residential care typically aged 8 to 18 years old. We also have three schools providing access to SEN education. Our young people have had traumatic backgrounds, and we work towards developing and supporting them towards positive outcomes, to live happy and fulfilled lives.

Responsibilities include

Raising monthly and termly sales invoices

Credit control to local authorities

Liasing with others internally to resolve invoicing or credit control issues

Bank postings of receipts and payments

Bank Reconciliations

Processing of purchase ledger invoices

Supplier statement reconcilations

Supplier payment runs (two per month)

Coding and posting of Barclaycard transactions and petty cash.

Accounting for vat where they are supported by receipts.

Ad hoc accounting and admin support as required

Ideally you have

Minimum three years experience in similar accounting role.

Experience in vat accounting

SAGE 50 Accounts (multi company experience advantageous)

You will need to be hands on with a positive attitude who is able to take responsibility for completion of tasks. The role requires someone who has good accuracy and attention to detail.

You will need DBS clearance prior to starting which the company will fund.

Salary 28,000 FTE (Pro rata 16,800 for 3 days)

1k bonus on completion of contract term

23 days holiday + bank holidays pro rata'd to 18.5 inclusive
