Job Description
We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Finance Assistant to join an established team and organisartion within the FMCG industry. This permanent position offers an exciting opportunity to support accounting and finance operations efficiently.
- Assist in the preparation and maintenance of financial records and reports.
- Support accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Reconcile bank statements and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
- Process invoices, payments, and expenses in accordance with company policies.
- Process supplier invoices and credits to the accounting system
- Generate a weekly payment run for all suppliers (including foreign currency)
- Maintain accurate and organised financial documentation registering new suppliers
- Perform purchase ledger reconciliations between supplier accounts and statements
A successful Finance Assistant should have:
- A solid understanding of accounting principles and financial processes.
- Good understanding of VAT (including reverse charges) (essential)
- Accustomed to working with and interpreting data (essential)
- IT skills - highly proficient with Excel, Microsoft Outlook, and accounting packages. (essential)
- Confidence and experience in working with Business Central (Desirable)
- Experience of the fruit or fresh produce industry (desirable)
- Opportunities to develop skills and grow within the accounting and finance sector.
