This role is critical in ensuring robust financial controls, compliance with UK accounting standards, and contributing to the overall efficiency of our finance operations.We are currently seeking a Finance Assistant to assist in financial reporting, sales ledger including credit control, and month-end processes. The successful candidate will support key accounting functions, reconciliation of accounts, and collaborate with stakeholders to optimise financial performance. This position demands an organised individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and demonstrates strong problem-solving and leadership skills.

Principle Duties and Accountabilities
The specific accountabilities of this flexible role may alter from time to time in order to meet the needs of the company, but accountabilities will include (or be equivalent in nature to) those listed below:
Supporting Internal Controls and Financial Processes
Daily Bank Reconciliations
Credit card reconciliations
Payment processing
Checking customer credit ratings
Review customer credit limits both discretionary and insured
Proposing write-off of irrecoverable debt
Cash Sales/Cash Hires financial side including invoicing and management
Application for payment management including final accounts
Maintaining Cash Accounts
Expenses
Financial Reporting
Running Monthly Aged Debtors/Creditors reports
Completing proof of debt statements
Providing reports on key events as required
Cashflow and Budget
Managing debts to ensure payment patterns are understood
Supporting the Financial Controller & Supporting the Finance Team
Dealing with internal/external queries
Provide support during internal and external audits
Covering Credit Control during annual leave
Level of Knowledge and Experience
Essential
Excellent communication skills
- both written and verbal
Skilled Working Knowledge of Sage 50
Technical proficiency in Microsoft Office skills, in particular Excel
Self-motivated and willing to manage own workload, as well as work with team members effectively
Advantageous
Ideally 3+ years experience in a similar position
AAT Level 3 Certificate or equivalent
Experience working in construction and the construction supply industry.
