The Finance Assistant role is an important post that plays a key part in supporting the financial operational and management function of the school, and provides a key service to staff, suppliers and parents. The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic team with a wide-ranging array of responsibilities.
The position involves responsibility for the school's purchase ledger function, primarily dealing with purchase orders, invoicing and processing weekly BACS run. As a member of the finance team, you will provide support to budget holders and staff, dealing with queries, and offering guidance and training where required. The varied nature of the role means it will also involve working alongside colleagues in the finance and administration teams, making time management, flexibility and excellent communication skills essential.

Contract status: Permanent
Weeks per year: Term Time Only (39 weeks per year)
Days per week: Monday to Friday
Hours per week: 35
Shift pattern: 8.15am to 4.15pm with an hour unpaid break

We need you to be:
excellent maths knowledge;
able to work under pressure and use initiative to work independently & to prioritise under strict deadlines;
an excellent level of computer knowledge, keyboard skills and software (financial database and other MIS) usage, Microsoft Word, Excel and databases.
