Finance Assistant - Part Time (3 days)



Salary:

35,000 per annum (FTE) (21,000 per annum actual for 3 days per week)

Role:

Part time - 3 days per week (22.5 hours per week)

Location:

Chancery Lane, London / Hybrid (After training, 2 days in office, 1 day remote)

Job Role - Finance Assistant



This is a varied role and we are seeking a self-starter who can take accountability for their own workload.

Key Duties - Finance Assistant





Sales Ledger



Compile sales receipts from Stripe - Accelevents, Circle and allocate in Sage - BACS, stripes. Investigate discrepancy in sales receipts. Make corrections to rectify the above discrepancies - this includes writing to customer requesting additional payment, liaise with Ops to check discount applied.

Purchase Ledger



Assist with processing purchase invoices and employee expense claims. Ensure venue invoices are complete and allocated to the correct cost centre for VAT return submissions. Assist with supplier payment run - prioritise payment according to event dates, check PI against statement.

General Finance Duties



Assist with UK VAT returns - ensure all proforma invoices are correctly replaced with VAT invoice post events. Foreign VAT - output tax- compare Sage records against Accelevents registration data to ensure all data are correctly captured in the data sent to Sovos. Foreign VAT - input tax - ensure all purchases made abroad are captured in the reclaim list. Assist with quarterly reporting - compile nominal list complete with cost centres and event dates for use in deferred revenues and expenses adjustments. Assist in reconciling records in Sage and Procim.




The ideal candidate



AAT / CIMA or ACCA qualified or part qualified is desirable but not essential Previous experience in similar role in a small to medium sized UK organisation is essential. Ideally experience of International VAT. Ideally experience of Sage and/or Xero. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Strong organisational skills, accuracy and attention to detail. Ability to multitask and priortise own workload A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
