Job Overview
As our business continues to grow, we are looking for a reliable and motivated
Finance Assistant
to support both our Finance and Operations departments. This is a great opportunity for someone eager to gain experience across different areas of a fast-paced, expanding company.
You will work closely with the Accountant, CFO, and wider team to manage day-to-day accounting tasks, assist with logistics, and help ensure smooth business operations.
This is a permanent position suited for someone seeking a long-term role in a supportive, flexible, and family-friendly work environment. We welcome applications from candidates seeking either full-time or part-time hours.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Finance
Set up and maintain company accounts on Xero
Enter supplier invoices and create sales invoices on Xero
Reconcile supplier statements and bank transactions
Maintain accurate financial records (Accounts Payable/Receivable, reconciliations)
Submit VAT and EC Sales returns for the UK, Belgium (BE), and Netherlands (NL) offices
Assist with year-end accounts and monthly sales reporting
Liaise with the US subsidiary for intercompany transactions
Support pricing analysis tasks
Operations & Logistics
Download and prepare monthly sales and purchase reports for management
Liaise with clients and forwarders to ensure timely deliveries
Assist with container clearances in the UK and Europe
Monitor and report weekly inventory levels
Update patent renewal records
Handle admin and logistics duties assigned through internal systems
Qualifications
Required:
AAT qualification, or currently studying towards ACCA
Minimum of 2 years' experience in an accounting or finance role
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including use of formulas
Fluent in English (both spoken and written)
Preferred:
Experience using Xero or QuickBooks
Familiarity with VAT and EC Sales returns
Exposure to intercompany transactions and year-end reporting
