About the Role

As our Finance Assistant, you'll play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of our financial operations. From managing invoices and reconciliations to supporting month-end processes and ad-hoc projects, you'll gain hands-on experience across all areas of finance.

Responsibilities

Accounts Payable & Receivable

Process supplier invoices, employee expenses, and payment runs Match purchase orders to invoices and resolve discrepancies Prepare and process payment batches (BACS, cheques, bank transfers) Chase outstanding payments and maintain debtor records File and maintain supplier and customer documentation
Financial Administration

Perform daily bank reconciliations Process and code financial transactions accurately Input data into accounting systems with accuracy Respond to internal and external finance queries
General Support

Assist with month-end tasks as directed Support the preparation of payment schedules and reports Help maintain accurate financial records and filing systems Provide administrative support to the finance team Assist with ad-hoc finance projects and tasks
Essential Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent work experience) Minimum 2-3 years' experience in a finance or bookkeeper role Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting Experience processing invoices and payments Good understanding of VAT treatment Experience with multi- currency transactions
Technical Skills

Good Excel skills (basic formulas, formatting, data entry) Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Sage) Strong numerical and data entry skills Good understanding of basic bookkeeping and working to month end close
Personal Attributes

Strong attention to detail and accuracy Well-organized with good time management Ability to work as part of a team Professional and friendly communication skills Willingness to learn and develop Reliable and trustworthy Able to handle confidential information appropriately
