The Role
As Finance Assistant, you will take full ownership of the transactional finance function, including accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, payroll administration, and supporting the month-end close process. You'll be responsible for ensuring accuracy and compliance across financial operations, assisting with audit preparation when required, and contributing to financial reporting and analysis.
Drawing on your previous transactional experience, you'll help streamline and improve finance systems and workflows.
As part of a small and agile team, you'll gain exposure to a broad range of accountancy functions--including FP&A, ad hoc reporting, and strategic finance--and will be encouraged to take on additional responsibilities as the business grows and your capabilities develop.

Key Responsibilities
Accounts Payable & Receivable: Full ownership of AP/AR processes, including invoice processing, payment runs, and customer collections.
Bank Reconciliations: Perform daily reconciliations across multiple bank accounts.
Month-End Close: Assist with journal entries, accruals, prepayments, and reconciliations.
Payroll Administration: Support the ongoing administration of payroll systems (already implemented).
Audit Support: Assist with preparation and documentation for future audits.
Reporting & Analysis: Help prepare financial reports and ad hoc analysis.
Compliance & Controls: Ensure financial processes comply with internal controls and regulatory requirements.
Systems & Process Improvement: Contribute to the improvement of finance systems and workflows.
About You
You're a proactive and detail-oriented finance professional with previous experience in a multi-site retail or similar fast-paced environment.
You're confident managing transactional finance and ideally have hands-on experience with Xero, or you're quick to learn new accounting systems.
You're keen to grow within the business, happy to challenge existing processes, and take full ownership of your role.
You're either AAT qualified or actively working towards AAT, CIMA, or ACCA, and you thrive in settings where autonomy and initiative are valued.
You'll be joining a bright, bubbly office, so we're looking for someone dynamic, collaborative, and prepared to work hard.
You'll also be comfortable working under our hybrid working policy, balancing independence with team engagement.
