An opportunity has arisen to join the Finance team in Power T&D England & Wales, working to assure the costs are correctly allocated and processes are followed in a consistent manner.
As a Finance Assistant, you will be responsible for processing, monitoring and reviewing costs to ensure cost assurance and compliance.
What you'll be doing
AR and AP support and processing
Monthly Timesheet management and processing
Project set up management
Cost Transfers and reconciliation of control accounts
Support the rate recharging process
Assisting the project team with cost queries and gaining back up/validation to costs
Supporting Commercial function by ensuring correct cost allocation and running of weekly cost reports
Working with stakeholders to support audits monthly/quarterly provide samples of costs to enable audits and validation
Standardising an approach across all contracts and building a robust process to ensure the processes evolve and improve as more contracts are won.
Provide necessary support to Commercial counterpart(s) working on individual contracts ensuring knowledge share and control of financial information in line with the contract
Who we're looking for
Highly motivated, proactive and practical individual
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and within set timescales
Thrives in a busy environment and enjoys a challenge
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Highly organised and able to work on own initiative
Review and Prioritise tasks with accuracy
High levels of IT Literacy, preferably used Oracle R12 accounts system but not essential.
Previous experience of cost assurance audits would be beneficial but not essential
Confidence to work closely with the Commercial team and building good working relationships across the portfolio of projects.
Act as a strong advocate for best practice, able to support and defend practical deployment and solutions, whilst remaining open to the ideas of others.
