Here at Side International, we're excited to welcome a new Finance Assistant to our growing team. This role is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their finance career within a dynamic, international environment.



As a Finance Assistant, you'll play an important role in supporting our London-based Finance Team. Side operates several stand-alone UK business lines, each producing independent management accounts. Our team includes two qualified accountants overseeing overall management reporting, alongside a transaction management team based in India--and you'll be right at the centre of helping it all run smoothly.



Responsibilities



Entering customer receipts, supplier payments and other bank transactions and performing bank reconciliations for review

Ensuring that VAT codes are correctly input

Reviewing and reconciling Debtor and Creditor Accounts (including prepayments and accruals)

Performing a variety of accounting reconciliations including group intercompany accounts

Performing Credit control activities and providing information to support cash flow forecasting and management

Supporting the production of the monthly management accounts

Performing an initial review to identify and escalate reporting discrepancies or control issues

Completing monthly tasks checklists, particularly to ensure that processing and reconciliations and controls are complete

Assisting with preparing Year-end audit files, ensuring all information and supporting documents are electronically available, in accordance with the agreed timeframe

Assisting others in the Finance Team with any other duties as required, including the upkeep of electronic records



MIS and Reporting:



Maintain financial records for the UK business in a manner that facilitates timely and accurate Management reports

Assist FP&A teams with the preparation of budgets by providing relevant information on a regular basis

Provide accurate and timely reporting on the financial activity of the overall company

Requirements



Skills Required:



Hands-on experience in end-to-end accounting activities, balance sheet and other reconciliations and monthly and annual accounts closures

Good Communicator, "Make It Happen" attitude, and should be ready to work under pressure and long hours based on the business requirements

Have a good working relationship with the wider finance team and other departments.



Proficiency in the use of computer programs for:



Accounting ERP, particularly Microsoft D365, will be a significant advantage

Good knowledge of MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) in general and Excel in particular



Experience:



Part Qualified and actively pursuing qualification

At least 3 years Finance work experience, 2 years of accounting and reporting

Demonstrable Intermediate Excel skills

Numerate and good attention to detail

Able to demonstrate initiative and flexibility

Motivated team player with good interpersonal skills and strong desire to support the team in meeting organisational objectives

Good planning and organisational skills

Good time-management skills

Ability to resolve problems and queries quickly and efficiently

Good written and verbal communication skills in English
