We rely heavily on data and first principles decision-making. The Role We are recruiting for an ambitious and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join our expanding Finance team. Playing a crucial role in supporting our finance operations by maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring the business remains compliant in all areas of Finance. As a business we make data driven decisions quickly, iterate regularly and have huge ambitions for modernising the legal industry. Key Responsibilities: Accounts Payable

  • Process supplier invoices and employee expenses in a timely manner, in accordance with company policies and ensuring accurate coding.
  • Point of contact for both internal and external communications.
  • Generating bi-weekly multi-currency payment runs
  • Proactively look to improve processes

Accounts Receivable
  • Raise monthly sales invoices
  • Reconciling customer accounts
  • Chasing clients for outstanding invoices
  • Point of contact for both internal and external communications
  • Proactively look to improve processes

Management Accounts

  • Supporting the Financial Controller to deliver balance sheet reconciliations in a timely manner

Other
  • Bank reconciliations and bookkeeping
  • Assistance with monthly payroll, including compiling the bank file for review by the Financial Controller
  • Quarterly VAT return preparation for review by the Financial Controller
  • Assistance with annual audit
  • Assist the Financial Controller and Head of Finance with ad-hoc projects
  • Any other tasks at the discretion of the Financial Controller and Head of Finance

How would we describe success?
Success in this role after 6 months looks like:
  • Owning and understanding all balance sheet reconciliations, and understanding is included in the balances
  • Owning both the payable and receivable process and being the go-to person both internally and externally for all payable and receivable queries
  • Understanding the related company policies to be able to confidently challenge anything out of policy
  • Being a trusted partner in the Finance team by both the Financial Controller and the Head of Finance
  • Being confident in proposing solutions to improve existing processes
