Finance Assistant

Based: Battersea Park
Salary: \xc2\xa324,924 - \xc2\xa326,500 per year
Contract: Permanent, Full Time

Role overview
We require an experienced, enthusiastic and self-motivated finance assistant to join our small finance team The ideal candidate will have experience working in a Finance environment with exposure to accounts receivable, accounts payable and management accounting. Excellent attention to detail and the ability to multi-task.

Regular duties would initially consist of, but not be limited to, the below. They will be reviewed on a regular basis to ensure they are in line with development needs.


  • Assist with Accounts Payables and Accounts Receivables: Processing and raising purchase and sales invoices, allocating the payments and receipts
  • Preparing and managing weekly payment runs and other payments
  • Assist with credit control: Contacting customers with overdue balances and working to collect outstanding payments.
  • Daily bank reconciliations: Perform daily reconciliation of bank statements to ensure accurate recording of financial transactions and identify discrepancies promptly
  • Assist with Month-End Process: Working closely with the finance team to complete month-end activities, which may include balance sheet reconciliations, posting journals and adjusting entries.
  • Resolving Supplier/Client Queries: Act as a point of contact for supplier and client inquiries, addressing financial concerns and resolving issues promptly. Manage the finance generic email inbox effectively.
  • Producing Regular Reports: Generate and distribute financial reports to budget holders, providing them with insights and data necessary for informed decision-making
  • Assist with Year-End Audit: Support the Head of Finance during the year-end audit process by preparing documentation and assisting auditors as needed.

Skills and abilities
  • Excellent IT skills and confident in the use of Microsoft Excel
  • AAT qualified, or similar level qualification is desirable
  • Previous experience using Xero desirable, but not essential as full training will be given
  • Strong attention to detail and able to produce work with a high level of accuracy
  • Good problem-solving ability
  • Good written verbal and communication skills
  • Ability to prioritise
