Reporting to the Management Accountant, the Finance Assistant is a hybrid role based mainly at home with monthly keep in touch meetings at our Head Office near Hungerford. To fulfil the role, you'll need to be able to work at a desk and use a VDU for long periods of time.
As a key member of the Finance Team, you'll also be communicating with our staff across the business, our suppliers, clients and sometimes even customers. Hence, you'll need to be comfortable and confident in both your written and oral communication.
Your core hours will be 3 per day Monday - Friday, between 9am-4pm. The specific times will be mutually agreed with the Management Accountant during the recruitment process.
Duties
Purchase ledger management
Sales ledger management
Managing the accounts inbox
Bank reconciliations within the accounting system
Assist with payroll tasks
Assist Management Accountant with ad hoc tasks
Experience
At least 3 years previous experience in a similar role
Familiarity with basic accounting principles and financial software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks) is advantageous
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
Excellent numerical proficiency
Good communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, is preferred
