Overview

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented

Finance Assistant

to join our busy finance team within a leading

tour operator

. The successful candidate will have hands-on experience with

QuickBooks Online

and at least

2 years' experience

in a finance or accounts role. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced travel environment, supporting the finance function across multiple destinations and departments.

Responsibilities

Maintain and update sales ledger and purchase ledger records accurately Complete bank reconciliations, cash reconciliations and credit card reconciliations on a regular basis Record and reconcile payments received from customers and suppliers Process invoices, payments, and expenses accurately Prepare and update daily sales and financial reports Support month-end and year-end closing processes Liaise with operations and reservations teams to ensure accurate financial records for tours and bookings Support the finance team with ad-hoc administrative and reporting tasks

Requirements

Minimum 2 years' experience in a finance, accounting, or bookkeeping role Strong experience with QuickBooks Online (essential) A degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is preferred but not essential; relevant experience will also be considered. Sound knowledge of sales and purchase ledger management Excellent attention to detail and strong reconciliation skills Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office tools Strong organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines in a dynamic environment A proactive and team-oriented approach

Desirable

Experience in the travel or tour operator industry Understanding of foreign currency transactions and multi-currency reconciliations Knowledge of VAT in relation to travel services (TOMS)
