This is a permanent, full-time role working on site in our Manston offices. As a key figure in the finance department, you will process financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, and assist with the preparation of reports at month and year end. Key Responsibilities
Process day to day financial transactions, including processing invoice, receipts and payments
Responsible for the finance email inbox (internal and external queries)
Ensure accurate and timely recording of financial data in the company accounting system
Reconcile bank statements daily and assist with month and year end financial closing
Assist in the preparation of financial reports and budgets
Process payment runs
Reconcile company credit card statements
Preparation of VAT returns
Manage cash flow by tracking transactions and regularly reviewing internal reports
Ensure compliance with company policies and financial regulations
Create, send, and follow up on invoices to ensure prompt payment
Review departmental budgets reporting any overspends or anomalies
Review and audit financial statements weekly to ensure all calculations and data entries are correct.
Reconcile any discrepancies or errors identified by conversing with stakeholders
Suggest changes or improvements to increase accuracy, efficiency, and cost reductions.
Payroll processing
Supporting other areas of finance such as credit control during annual leave
Person Specification
Qualified in Finance at BTEC level or higher
3-5 years experience of working within financial department or a degree in finance
Proven experience in invoice processing, cashbook and bank reconciliations to nominal ledger
Payroll experience desirable
Knowledge of working in foreign currencies an advantage
Excellent communications skills
Good working knowledge of IT systems including Office 365 software
Flexible working attitude and the ability to problem solve
