Finance Assistant

Main Purpose of the Role





To support the efficient operation of the organisation's financial systems by performing essential

administrative and accounting tasks

. The Finance Assistant will assist with day-to-day financial processes, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely completion of financial activities.



Key Duties and Responsibilities




Process

purchase ledger invoices

accurately and efficiently. Perform

account reconciliations

and resolve any discrepancies to ensure financial accuracy. Respond to and manage a variety of

customer, supplier, and employee queries

. Assist in the

payment of suppliers

and ensure timely processing of transactions. Support the

monthly payroll

and

CIS (Construction Industry Scheme)

processes. Provide

administrative support

, including handling departmental email inboxes, assisting with

credit control

, and maintaining accurate financial documentation and reports. Process

weekly timesheets

and

mileage claims

. Record and process

credit card transactions

in line with company policy. Perform

ad hoc financial and administrative duties

as required to support the Finance Team.

Qualifications and Experience




5 GCSEs (Grade C/4 or above)

, including English and Maths. Proficient in

Microsoft Office

, particularly

Excel

. Strong

accuracy and attention to detail

. Effective

communication skills

for liaising with suppliers and internal teams. Excellent

organisational and multitasking abilities

. * Basic understanding of

financial processes

, including

VAT

and general accounting principles.
