Job Description

The innovative food hall group Blend Family, is looking for a Finance Assistant to join our Sheffield head office. In this office-based role, you'll provide vital support to our Finance Director and Finance Manager with the day-to-day accounting for our food halls and construction projects.

The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, a proactive attitude towards problem-solving and a willingness to learn new skills within finance across hospitality and construction.

The Role



Playing a key part in the finance team, the Finance Assistant will work across payables and receivables of the business, as well as with the construction side of the business, managing expense and subcontractor payments and keeping a track of project spend. You will also assist with monthly reporting and other essential financial tasks.

Key Responsibilities:



Process purchase invoices, ensuring accurate cost coding. Reconcile supplier statements and resolve queries. Reconcile Balance Sheet accounts, including inter-company balances Assist with accruals, prepayments, and journals. Verify subcontractors, manage CIS records, and process monthly CIS returns. Handle subcontractor invoices, payments, and supporting documentation. Provide data for cashflow forecasting and project analysis. Support credit control and communicate with clients about outstanding balances.

What We're Looking For



Experience in hospitality or construction finance. An understanding of CIS would be welcome. Strong working knowledge of Xero. A good understanding of VAT. AAT Level 3/4 qualified or equivalent experience, with part-qualified ACCA/CIMA candidates also welcome. Strong numerical skills with a keen attention to detail. Confident Excel skills, including lookups and pivot tables. Someone who is organised, detail-focused, and can work effectively in a busy office environment. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to liaise with internal teams and external stakeholders. A proactive attitude towards problem-solving and a willingness to learn new skills within finance.
