About the Role:
As a Finance Assistant, you will work closely with the Trust centre team and schools to ensure effective finance support and compliance with the Trust's Finance Policy. Your key responsibilities will include administering the Trust's purchasing system (iCompleat), managing financial records, reconciling transactions, and providing general administrative support. You will also play a crucial role in maintaining accurate records for audit and offering finance system support to school-based colleagues.
What We're Looking For:
A recognized qualification in financial management (AAT qualification preferable).
Experience in clerical and administrative duties with high levels of accuracy.
Knowledge of bookkeeping and accountancy procedures.
Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work methodically and maintain efficient record-keeping systems.

What You Need to Succeed
Knowledge of and willingness to learn a range of software applications
Experience of undertaking a range of clerical and administrative duties including data input and retrieval where high levels of accuracy and attention to correct process are required
Working knowledge of bookkeeping and accountancy procedures and practice including account reconciliation and purchasing procedures
Experience of working in a school, academy trust or local government environment particularly in a finance role
Experience using Xero Financial Management
Experience using iCompleat purchase management
Attention to detail with an ability to spot numerical error
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Experience with ICT and ability to learn new systems
Ability to work in an organised and methodical manner
Ability to maintain efficient record keeping systems
Ability to assist with the production of accurate records and reports
Ability to communicate with a range of audiences
Ability to identify work priorities and manage own workload to meet deadlines whilst ensuring that lower priority work is kept up to date
Ability to show sensitivity and objectivity in dealing with confidential issues
Willingness to undertake further training as required - whilst financial experience is desirable, it is not essential as training will be provided.
