We are seeking a detail orientated and proactive Finance Assistant to support the administration team with day-to-day financial operations. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and assisting with reporting to ensure the smooth running of the finance function.
Key Responsibilities
Process invoices, payments and receipts in a timely and accurate manner.
Assist with maintaining purchase and sales ledgers.
Support month end and year end close processes, including reconciliations.
Prepare and update financial spreadsheets, reports, and records.
Assisting with accounts receivable and payment follow-up.
Respond to internal and external finance queries.
Assist with reviewing and monitoring contract payment terms and retention dates to ensure timely and accurate processing.
Maintain accurate filing systems (digital and physical).
Assist with the accurate processing of subcontractor payments and preparation of CIS returns in compliance with HMRC regulations.
Skills & Qualifications
Previous experience in a finance or accounts support role (desirable but not essential for entry-level).
Good understanding of basic accounting principles.
Strong numerical and data entry skills with excellent attention to detail.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., Sage).
Ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines, and work under pressure.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
