Overview - Kite Packaging



Kite Packaging was founded in 2001 with a unique vision and a philosophy of employee-ownership. We operate through three clearly defined divisions:

Environmental Division

. The Division supports its customer-members in complying with the Packaging Waste Regulations. Kite is the only packaging distributor in the UK which offers this added-value service to its customers and it is in principle an auditing and consultancy business.

Regional Distribution Centres

. Kite's 8 RDCs, which operate on a geographical territory basis, provide service & solutions to large customers who generally require mainly customer-specific packaging products. This division looks after the packaging requirements of some of the UK leading manufacturers and we offer the very highest level of technical support through our dedicated teams of engineers and account managers.

Kite-on-line

. KOL sells and supplies a comprehensive range of standard packaging products to B2B customers, on either a pre-paid or credit account basis, via its website - kitepackaging.co.uk- and fulfils orders from its National Distribution Centre in Coventry.

The role of Finance assistant



You will be working directly for the Group Finance Manager. You will support the Management Accounting team who have the responsibility for producing the monthly accounts for all the businesses in the Group and the yearend accounts for shareholders.

Your focus will be working within the treasury, stock accounting and account payable query resolution functions. However, you will be expected to work across all areas within the finance function when required.

This is a newly created role following our migration to a new ERP system to assist in further growth and process improvement. This would suit somebody who embraces change with the ability to offer construction solution to improve efficiencies.

The role will specifically cover the following areas:

Work with the existing finance assistant to ensure daily cash reports are issued. Assist and complete daily bank reconciliations. Assist and complete weekly payment runs. Ensure that we process and monitor stock transactions efficiently. Working with our National Distribution Centre to ensure efficient processing of transactions. Assist the management accountants' team with month end duties such as accruals and prepayment reviews. With the vision of taking
In addition, you will take on some responsibilities in the management account team to help the team and to support your understanding of the systems, processes and deadlines. This will also support you in your main responsibilities of reporting and developing improvements in a fast-moving environment with ever-growing number of transactions.

Requirements



The successful candidate must have 3-5 years of experience within a similar accounting role. The candidate can be qualified by experience or studying/qualified in with a recognised accounting body.

Strong analytical skills Experienced with excel (Formulas such as - IF, XLOOKUP, SUMIF) A caring manner to support and teach those that are not financially skilled but are in senior operational roles A team player who will contribute to the greater good Attention to detail and wanting everything to be right Demonstrates leadership skills and an ambition to grow themselves and within the team Good organisational skills and multi-tasking ability Good verbal communication Capable of working with minimal supervision
