Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Finance Assistant (PT). The candidate should be able to demonstrate that they are confident enough to help support a busy finance department and be willing to take on new aspects of the role as the company grows further.
The experience of the candidate should include a good level of practical understanding of accounts and how they operate in a medium size company. A particular exposure to sales and purchase ledger system, bank payments and reconciliations and able to interact with clients and suppliers by phone and email.
Experience & Skills:
Proven practical understanding of accounting operations in a mid-sized company
Familiarity with sales and purchase ledgers, bank payments, reconciliations
Comfortable communicating with clients and suppliers by phone and email
Key Responsibilities:
Process and record financial transactions, including invoices, receipts, and payments
Review expenses and receipts, posting them accurately to the ledger
Maintain organised, thorough financial files and documentation
Ensure compliance with company policies and financial regulations
Assist with accounting tasks and provide relevant information as required
Perform general administrative duties
Follow up with clients regarding overdue payments
Key Competencies:
Excellent organisational and time-management skills
Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy
Proficient in Microsoft 365 (Excel, Word, Outlook) and accounting software - Sage line 50 would be an advantage but not required)
Solid analytical skills to assess financial data and suggest improvements
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
Flexibility in scheduling and adaptability to changing priorities
