Job Description

We are seeking a Finance Assistant to join a dedicated Finance team based in York. As a Finance Assistant, you will play a vital role in maintaining the purchase and sales ledgers, ensuring all supplier transactions are properly authorised and accurately recorded. Based in York, you will work closely with the Finance team and other departments to provide comprehensive financial support.
Details:

  • Immediate start
  • 6 months contract
  • Hours 25-30 hours over 4 days or 5 days.
  • Salary between 24,238 - 26,947 pro rata - depending on experience
  • Hybrid
  • Free Parking
Responsibilities:
  • Monitoring the Finance inbox and addressing invoices and queries promptly.
  • Ensuring invoices are processed correctly and authorised in line with procedures.
  • Maintaining and reconciling supplier accounts.
  • Creating new supplier accounts and processing invoices as required.
  • Liaising with customers and suppliers to resolve payment queries.
  • Building strong relationships with colleagues across the organisation.
  • Prioritising your workload effectively and using your initiative to meet objectives.
  • Upholding confidentiality and maintaining accurate records in line with policies.
  • Promoting equal opportunity and diversity within the organisation.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience in a finance team or office environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • Ability to manage workloads effectively and meet deadlines.
  • A methodical approach with a focus on accuracy.
  • Friendly, approachable, and able to work well in a team.
