Job Description

Our practice manager will be going on maternity leave in January 2026.We are seeking a motivated individual to manage the financial operations of the business during a 12-month maternity leave period.
Reporting to the GP Partners, you will be responsible for various bookkeeping and administrative tasks. .
The role is for 15 hours across 2 days and requires working on-site at the practice.
We have a supportive team of 5 partners and serve nearly 9,000 patients.
Main duties of the job
Main duties will include:

  • Claims
  • Accurately recording transactional information on Xero Accounting Software
  • Payroll
  • Management of all practice finances
  • Participate in finance meetings
  • Assist with the preparation of month and year end reports and other ad hoc tasks as and when required
  • Providing presentations on the current financial situation
  • Forecasting the finances
  • Stock Ordering
  • Update Databases and spreadsheets - Excel, Google Sheets
  • Liaising with the accountants
  • Assisting others within the finance team where required
About us
We are just over 9000 patient GP surgery. We have 5 GP partners, 3 ANPs, 2 Practice Nurses, 2 HCAs and a large admin team. We are also a training practice with 2 junior doctors
