Location: Office Base is London Television Centre. This is a hybrid role and the successful candidate will balance office working with home working.

THE ROLE
------------
We are seeking a Finance Business Analyst to support the Commercial Planning & Analysis (CP&A) and Business Partnering functions within our Brands & Licensing division. This is a key role in driving financial insight and supporting the efficient management and profitability across multiple business lines, including Live Entertainment, Motion Gallery, Radio & Music, Licensed Titles, and Learning Licensing.
The successful candidate will play a crucial role in forecasting, budgeting, and long-range planning (LRP), while also contributing to strategic decision-making through business case development. The role reports in to the Head of Finance for Consumer Products and Licensing, and the role will involve close collaboration with the A&R and TCS finance teams to support month-end reporting and ensure financial accuracy.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Budgeting and Forecasting
Prepare P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow forecasts, budgets, and long-range plans.
Support the submission of rolling forecasts to Group Finance.
Actuals and Reporting
Partner with the A&R Analyst and TCS Performer to review and challenge actuals to improve forecast accuracy.
Monitor and track accrued and deferred income, commission accruals, billing, and revenue recognition.
Provide A&R support around licensee invoicing as needed.
Deliver clear commentary and analysis for consolidated Brands & Licensing reporting.
Stakeholder and Business
Support
Work with the B&L Finance Business Partner to produce monthly and periodic performance reports for consolidated Group submissions.
Collaborate with key stakeholders across the Licensing business to drive growth initiatives and manage financial relationships with external licensees.
Assist in the preparation of business cases and related approval documentation.
Conduct ad hoc financial analysis to support strategic and operational decision-making.
Continuously identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
WHAT DOES IT TAKE?

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
A professional accounting qualification (e.g. CIMA, ACA, ACCA), part-qualified, newly qualified, or qualified by experience (QBE).
Strong technical accounting knowledge and skills.
Demonstrated commercial acumen with the ability to apply financial insight in a business context.
A proactive self-starter, comfortable working in a dynamic environment and dealing with ambiguity.
Proven track record in identifying and delivering process improvements to drive efficiency.
Strong analytical capabilities, including financial modelling skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships and collaborate across a wide range of stakeholders - including internal teams (e.g. B&L Finance, Licensing leadership, budget holders, Group Finance, P2P, OTC, R2R) and external partners (e.g. licensees such as Pearson, Merlin Entertainments).
A genuine passion for and commitment to the values and vision of BBC Studios.
DESIRABLE CRITERIA:
Experience working within a media, entertainment, or licensing-focused organisation.
Familiarity with SAP or similar ERP systems.
Knowledge of revenue recognition principles, particularly in relation to licensing or intellectual property.
Experience supporting budgeting, forecasting, and reporting within a matrix organisation.
Understanding of the financial operations and challenges specific to the creative industries.
Exposure to commercial deal analysis or contract evaluation.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Awareness of BBC Studios' portfolio and strategic direction.
