As our Finance Business Partner, you'll play a key role in supporting Birmingham Phoenix and teams across the Club, using your financial expertise to influence decisions, guide budgeting and deliver high-quality reporting. You'll be the link between finance and the wider organisation, helping teams understand their numbers and shape how resources are planned and managed.
This is a hands-on role with real visibility. You'll lead monthly accounts, forecasting, variance analysis and key financial processes, while building strong, trusted relationships with senior stakeholders. Your analysis, communication skills and professional judgement will make a clear and measurable impact.
Duties
Lead business partner for Birmingham Phoenix (BP) and support business partner for Warwickshire County Cricket Club (WCCC)
Management of month end processes, including the processing of accruals and prepayments journals
Producing monthly management accounts with commentary and variance analysis
Balance sheet reconciliations
Compile budget and maintain month by month budget phasing
Producing year-end statutory accounts including group consolidation
Management of annual audit processes
Submit central body The England & Wales Cricket Board (ECB) submissions
Maintenance of financial management system and ledger
Intercompany reconciliations with WCCC/Edgbaston Experience Limited (EEL)/BP
Maintenance of fixed asset register
Flexible working to meet business needs especially on match days
Ownership of all finance matchday procedures including car parking, floats and card machines
Provide business partnering with other heads of department

Experience
Degree in finance/ accounting area
Fully qualified chartered accountant
5 years minimum experience in similar role (desirable)* Experience producing management accounts, budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis
Experience working with senior stakeholders or budget holders
Experience in audit, controls, or financial governance (desirable)* Experience with financial systems/ERP (desirable)* Interest in sport (desirable)*
