This role is positioned within the finance team with a direct link to the business.
You will have responsibility for building strong business relationships with key stakeholders (largely in the manufacturing functions, e.g. production, supply chain and quality) in order to shape our understanding of business performance and drive improvements throughout the business.
You will be a "critical friend" to the business management (including the operations director and operations managers).
Reporting to the Financial Planning & Analysis Manager you will assist in all operational & financial reporting to support the strategic and commercial decision making within the business, as well as working with the head of group finance and CFO on the forecast and budgeting process.
Key Responsibilities
Provide financial leadership, relevant insight and challenge to relevant business leaders in determining and delivering the strategic business direction (including data analysis and reporting).
Quarterly forecasting and annual budgeting for cost centres and working closely with the head of group finance and CFO on the budget / forecasting model.
Working with the management accounts team on month end reporting and supporting the commercial accountant to deliver cost centre reports / P&Ls each month (for your allocated departments).
Reviewing KPIs to analyse production performance and produce recommendations e.g. waste and stock levels.
Work closely with the group accountant to continuously review and challenge management reports provided by the team; support the process of continual improvement.
Supporting the finance team with the statutory audit, including the R&D tax claim.
Working within the finance Team, but being a key player in the operations team, challenging and raising appropriate efficiency and automation recommendations.
Promoting a process improvement environment across the business, identifying inefficiencies, suggesting and implementing improvements.
Supporting the Supply Chain Team with quarterly stock takes and ongoing stock management.
Adhoc reporting as required by the FP&A Manager, CFO, operations director and cost centre managers (e.g. investment appraisals and project reviews).
Your Qualifications & Experience
Qualified with ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent accountant qualification (qualified by experience will be considered).
Ability to establish strong working relationships with multiple departments.
Strong background in finance business partnering.
Advanced excel skills and data modelling abilities.
Experience in managing multiple stakeholders.
Commercially astute and highly numerate.
A driven and highly motivated individual, who is committed to continuous improvement techniques.
An ability to challenge any status quo.
Strong communication skills, ability to present to non-financial stakeholders.
Experience working in manufacturing sector would be advantageous.
