Full Time: 35 hours per week
Fixed Term: 24 months
We are looking for a Finance Business Partner to join our team within the College of Science and Engineering working with EPCC & The Bayes Centre on a fixed term basis for 18 months. The Finance Business Partner will work closely with senior management teams providing strategic insight, analysis and advice enabling the delivery of sustainable financial forecasting and performance; and advocate and support consistent application of finance policy and procedures.
With over 10,000 students and 2,800 staff, the College of Science and Engineering is comprised of seven schools and two major business units that collectively deliver world class excellence in teaching and research, mainly from the University's King's Buildings Campus.
Your skills and attributes for success:

  • Degree or equivalent with a relevant professional financial/accounting qualification (e.g. ICAS, ICAEW, CIMA or CIPFA)
  • A proven record of accomplishment in managing relevant financial and administrative tasks, preferably some in an HE environment.
  • Experience of leading and managing significant projects and budgets.
  • Experience of providing analysis and strategic advice to senior managers.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, proven ability to explain complex finance concepts and the implication of financial decisions to non-specialists, excellent analytical skills and admirable IT skills (in particular, design and use of complex spreadsheets).
  • Superb interpersonal, people management and time management skills, with proven ability to influence others to achieve aims and evidence of successfully developing own team.
