We have a fantastic new opportunity to join our Investment Finance team as Finance Business Partner. With offices in Basingstoke, Bristol and Christchurch, we can be flexible on your base location. You\'ll share your time between the office and home, as well as some travel being required between our offices.

The Role

Reporting to the Head of Finance (Strategic Asset Management), the focus of this role is to deliver commercial finance decision support and performance management for Regeneration. You will provide timely, accurate and comprehensive internal financial information, commercial financial advice, scheme appraisals and financial analysis to managers and senior executive team in relation to regeneration activity.

Responsibilities include:

  • Leading on providing financial and commercial advice, support and modelling for regeneration projects focusing on deal structure, tax implications, key risks and mitigations, and return measures such as residual land value, profit margins, peak debt, ROCE, IRR and NPV
  • Own and manage the Excel regeneration model ensure it robustly appraises regeneration projects aligned to group metrics
  • Running sensitivity and scenario analysis on projects and assess the viability of potential projects, understand risks and optimise performance as well as the suitability and viability of development partners
  • Driving financial performance and managing risk by business partnering with the regeneration team and delivering insightful forward looking MI
  • Partnering with any external parties to review and challenge financial performance of any Regeneration JV and partnerships
  • Leading scrutiny of financial information from regeneration projects, making sure Directors fully understand project performance and are well placed to make informed decisions and support any relevant due diligence activity
  • Working with the wider Finance function to deliver Group Business Planning, Budgeting, cashflow forecasting and wider reporting requirements in relation to regeneration projects to ensure management accounts, statutory accounts and programme reporting are timely, accurate and comply with relevant accounting standards
What we\'re looking for

You\'ll have proven experience in a similar role with a strong track record of providing financial and commercial expertise successfully for property investment and divestment activity. You\'ll have a deep background in regeneration, real estate or property development, either on the client side or as a consultant. You\'ll have:
  • Significant investment appraisal expertise gained within the property / real estate sector
  • Experience leading financial support for large-scale capital projects (developments, asset management and/or regeneration) and divestment programmes
  • Excellent track record for business partnering, performance reporting, financial planning and stakeholder management
  • The ability to build effective working relationships both internally and externally with strong networking skill
  • Strong financial modelling skills
  • Previous experience working in the Real Estate Sector or Social Housing Sector
  • Knowledge of PowerBI and real estate appraisal software such as Proval, Sequel & Landval is desirable
  • Ideally, you\'ll be a Qualified or Part Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
