Brief Description
As the Finance Business Partner for Perth Delivery Unit, you will be responsible for producing and reporting the financial position each period and supporting the Maintenance Delivery Unit team and the Senior Finance Business Partner. Providing high?quality financial insight, analysis, and reporting that supports effective decision?making across the organisation. You will lead on budgeting, forecasting, and management accounts production while acting as a trusted integrated business partner to the delivery unit team.
You will be required to manage the Delivery Unit CAPEX spend and efficiency challenge alongside the Project Leader, meet the period end reporting deadlines, aid the production of a robust business plan, and produce accurate forecasts.
This role is ideally suited to an enthusiastic individual with rounded accounting experience and business partnering skills. You will be expected to lead review meetings, challenge current practices, and improve processes alongside normal activities such as period reporting. There are opportunities to get out and meet front line staff which will allow development and increase your knowledge of maintenance. This will provide a platform of understanding which will assist in the search for efficiencies and improvements.
About the role (External)
Key Accountabilities

  • Support the preparation of business plans and budgets, providing specialist advice on risks and opportunities.
  • Produce and present accurate and timely monthly accounts and quarterly forecasts for budget holders, including preparing
  • period accruals, journals, and project accounting. Issue reports and support budget holders in understanding the impact of the period results and forecasts against budgets.
  • Prepare variance analysis with clear narrative and insights
  • Produce the period end review packs and highlight any significant issues with financial results.
  • Monitor and promulgate corporate governance throughout the function and review compliance with financial regulations.
  • Participate in budget holder key meetings to provide sound financial advice and support.
What you will bring to the role: -
Demonstrate strong understanding of business needs and relevant application of accounting standards
Membership (Or working towards a membership) of a relevant accounting body (CIMA/ACCA)
Expert knowledge and experience of creating and maintaining accounts and annual budget
Significant experience within relevant finance disciplines
Strong excel skills and use of data manipulation
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to interpret technical accounting regulations into everyday language
Demonstrable effective influencing skills at a senior level
Significant understanding of financial control and risk
Excellent technical finance and accounting knowledge
Desirable
Understanding of project management principles and experience of managing complex projects
Membership of a relevant accounting body
Extensive experience of Oracle based systems
Degree or equivalent qualification in finance and accounting or business management or experience
Business Partnering
  • Build strong working relationships with operational leaders.
  • Provide expert financial advice, cost analysis, and decision support.
  • Communicate complex financial information in a clear, accessible way.
