About you
As the
Finance Business Partner
(Projects)
, you will be responsible for helping with shaping and delivering financial insight that informs strategic decisions across the business. You'll play a key role in enhancing profitability, aligning global operations, and preparing the finance function for future growth.
As the Finance Business Partner (Projects), your role will include, but not be limited to:
Strategic Finance Leadership
Provide commercial insight and financial guidance to Strategic Projects Leadership, ensuring alignment with policy and business objectives
Act as a proactive business partner to project teams, influencing decisions through risk assessment and strategic input
Contribute to governance and contract reviews with clear financial challenge and recommendations
Project Control & Reporting
Lead monthly reporting cycles, including forecasting, variance analysis, and early warning indicators to prevent financial surprises
Prepare and present tailored reporting packs for major projects, highlighting performance, risks, and opportunities
Maintain accurate Estimates at Completion (EAC), logging changes and analysing variances against baseline
Cash Flow & Data Integrity
Oversee invoice schedules and develop reliable cash flow forecasts across the project portfolio
Ensure high-quality project data and documentation to support audit readiness and financial judgments
Support consistent project setup and reporting standards across global major projects
Collaboration & Compliance
Build strong relationships across multi-disciplinary teams and with client finance functions to streamline financial operations
Ensure compliance with internal policies and accounting standards, supporting project teams with documentation and audit preparation
Contribute to reviews of loss provisions and WIP, ensuring financial accuracy and transparency
What we're looking for
A qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA or equivalent) with significant project accounting/business partnering experience
A track record of successfully supporting senior leadership with strategic insight
Confident communicator with the ability to influence at board level
Comfortable navigating complex, multi-region, and matrixed environments
Previous experience in delivering change through improved processes, controls, and technology
Proven ability to lead teams, coach talent, and deliver results in a collaborative, agile environment
What the client has to offer
Salary benchmarked at circa 75-83k
