WFA CIC (Walsall for All Community Interest Company) is a community-led organisation working to build a more cohesive, connected, and inclusive Walsall. We work with local people and partners to champion belonging, inclusion and social justice.
As we move into an exciting new phase of our development, we are looking for a detail?oriented and proactive Finance & Compliance Officer to lead on our financial management, reporting and legal compliance responsibilities.
Purpose of the Role
This role is ideal for someone who is highly organised and confident working with numbers and compliance requirements. You will manage WFA CIC's finances, ensure we meet all statutory duties as a Community Interest Company and work closely with the Operations Lead to align finance and operational plans.
Key Responsibilities
Finance Management
Manage financial transactions, bookkeeping and bank reconciliations.
Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports for the Board and funders.
Monitor budgets and cash flow to ensure financial sustainability.
Support the preparation of annual accounts and liaise with accountants.
Compliance & Governance
Oversee statutory returns and filings with Companies House and HMRC.
Ensure grant and funding compliance, including timely reporting to funders.
Maintain and update finance and compliance policies.
Ensure proper record?keeping for audits and funder reviews.
Collaboration & Support
Work closely with the Operations Lead to align finance and operational planning.
Provide financial insights to support funding bids and proposals.
Support the Board in understanding financial and compliance matters.
Person Specification
Essential
Experience in financial administration or management.
Understanding of budgets, bookkeeping and financial reporting.
Knowledge of compliance requirements for charities or CICs.
Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial management software.
Desirable
Experience with QuickBooks, Xero, or similar accounting software.
Understanding of grant management processes.
Experience working in the voluntary/community sector.
