Full financial oversight of the construction business, including job costing, WIP reporting, CVRs, margin analysis, and cost control. Preparation and consolidation of monthly management accounts across multiple legal entities. Ownership of group cashflow forecasting, working capital management, and liquidity planning. Management of banking relationships, debt facilities, development finance, and refinancing processes. Financial oversight of property developments, capital projects, acquisitions, and disposals. Delivery of robust budgets, forecasts, and KPI reporting to support operational and strategic decision-making. Provision of commercial insight to drive margin improvement, cost control, and sustainable growth. Lead point of contact for external auditors, tax advisors, lenders, and professional advisors. Development and leadership of the finance team, systems, and internal controls as the group scales.

Candidate Profile

Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA). Demonstrable experience operating at Finance Director level or in a senior financial controller / head of finance role within a multi-entity or construction-led business. Strong background in asset-intensive sectors such as construction, property development, facilities management, waste, logistics, or related industries. Proven experience managing job costing, WIP, CVRs, and construction project finances. Proven experience managing bank funding, debt structures, and lender negotiations. High level of commercial awareness with the confidence to challenge and support senior
stakeholders.

Comfortable working in an owner-managed, entrepreneurial environment while implementing robust financial disciplines.

We also welcome applications from individuals who may not yet hold the title of Finance Director but feel they are ready to take the next step in their career. Candidates currently operating at senior financial controller or head of finance level, with the right experience, hunger, and competence, will be fully considered for this role.

The Opportunity

This is a senior leadership role offering significant influence over the financial strategy and future direction of a growing group. The successful candidate will work closely with the board and have the opportunity to shape systems, processes, and the finance function as the business continues to
