Herefordshire Mind is seeking a Finance Director to lead our financial strategy and guide us through a pivotal transition. This is a rare opportunity to shape the future of a respected mental health charity while working part-time in a senior leadership role.

About the Role



As Finance Director, you'll work closely with our CEO and Board of Trustees to ensure financial sustainability, drive strategic planning, and prepare the organisation for the future -- including succession planning for our long-standing Finance Manager's retirement in 2027.

You'll lead budgeting, forecasting, and compliance, while collaborating across departments to align financial strategy with our mission to support mental health in Herefordshire.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) Senior-level experience in charity or non-profit finance Strong understanding of charity finance, budgeting, and fund accounting Strategic thinker with hands-on skills and a collaborative approach
Desirable:

Experience in mental health or health & social care Knowledge of fundraising models and income diversification Experience in team restructuring or succession planning
Working Arrangements

1 day per week (flexible delivery) Based in Hereford City centre or Remote-friendly with occasional in-person meetings (e.g., board or team days) Ideal for someone seeking a strategic part-time role with real impact
