About the team..
Our team is responsible for delivering value-added people initiatives across Finance and the wider CFO community. We manage and support Finance new entrant programmes (Graduates, Apprentices, Year in Industry students, and Summer Interns) and champion continuing professional development (CPD) across CFO. We design and deliver development initiatives such as mentoring programmes and talent pools, and actively promote internal mobility by sharing industry vacancies and supporting secondments. We are a passionate team, committed to people and development. The work is often busy and fast-paced, but always supportive and highly rewarding.
What does the average day look like?
In an average day at Network Rail, you'll be right at the centre of supporting our CFO community. In coordinating learning and development programmes with leading accountancy bodies, your work will make a real difference. You'll play a key role in planning and delivering events, managing sponsorship processes, keeping our content up to date, and ensuring smooth communication across the team. No two days look the same - one moment you might be liaising with training providers, the next organising travel, venues or gathering feedback to shape future programmes. It's a varied, people-focused role where your organisation and creativity will help our CFO talent thrive.
Who are we looking for?
We're looking for someone who is proactive, organised, and ready to take the initiative. You'll enjoy working across a variety of tasks, from managing programme logistics to supporting events and keeping everything running smoothly behind the scenes. Strong organisational skills are essential, as you'll be balancing multiple priorities and deadlines, while also being confident in communicating with colleagues, stakeholders, and training providers.
Most importantly, we're looking for someone who thrives in a supportive but fast-moving environment, can spot what needs to be done and make it happen, and is motivated by helping others succeed.
