Summary
We are seeking an experienced Finance Manager to join our team in West Sussex. As our
Finance Manager
, you will take ownership of the company's day-to-day financial management, ensuring accurate records, smooth reporting, and compliance across all areas. This is a hands-on role that combines bookkeeping with management accounts and cash flow oversight, offering the opportunity to work closely with the directors .
Responsibilities
Maintain accurate financial records
Prepare monthly management accounts, cash flow forecasts, and budget reports
Manage account payments and sales invoices
Hands on processing of purchase ledger overhead and stock invoices
Hands on processing of sales invoicing
Generate weekly and monthly pay runs
Payroll processing, including statutory pay and RTI submissions
Handle VAT returns, including reverse charge VAT
Ensure full compliance with CIS (Construction Industry Scheme) and HMRC regulations
Reconcile bank accounts, and supplier statements
Assist in year-end accounts and liaise with external accountants
About you
Minimum 5 years' experience in bookkeeping/accounting
Proficiency in Sage 50 accounting software and excel/word
AAT qualified or equivalent desirable or qualified by experience
Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently
Strong communication skills and confidence liaising with suppliers, subcontractors, and HMRC
Support directors with financial strategy and reporting
