Overview

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Finance Manager to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing financial operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and providing strategic guidance to support the organisation's financial health. This role requires strong leadership skills and a comprehensive understanding of financial management principles, including accounts payable, financial accounting, cost control, and financial planning.

Responsibilities

Manage the day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable and receivable. Prepare and analyse financial statements to ensure compliance with accounting standards. Develop and implement effective cost control measures to enhance profitability. Oversee budgeting processes and provide insights for financial planning. Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Collaborate with other departments to support strategic initiatives and ensure alignment with financial goals. Conduct regular audits of financial processes to identify areas for improvement. Stay updated on industry trends and regulations affecting the finance sector.

Qualifications

Proven experience in financial management or a related field. Strong knowledge of accounts payable, financial accounting, cost control, and financial services. Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team. Exceptional analytical skills with a keen attention to detail. Proficient in financial planning and reporting tools. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present complex information clearly. Relevant qualifications in finance or accounting (e.g., ACCA, CIMA) are preferred but not essential.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee financial operations across several limited companies Prepare monthly management accounts, reconciliations, and cash flow reports Maintain accurate records using

QuickBooks

Manage payroll, staff expenses, invoicing, and VAT returns Month P&L for all companies and departments Monitor cash flow and assist with financial forecasting Ensure compliance with HMRC, Companies House, and other regulatory bodies Liaise with external accountants and support annual audits and filings Provide financial insights and analysis to support strategic decisions

Requirements

Fully qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA or equivalent) At least 3 years of experience in a finance or accounting role Proficient in

QuickBooks

and Excel Knowledge of UK accounting standards and regulatory compliance Experience working across multiple businesses or legal entities Strong communication and time-management skills Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of finance tasks

Desirable

Experience in healthcare, dental, or service-based industries Familiarity with private/NHS billing (useful but not essential)
