Role Overview
We are seeking aa Finance Manager as part of our exciting growth plans. We are looking to recruit a committed, hardworking experienced Finance manager to review the management accounts, ensure our high standards and controls are withheld, improve process and assist in business partnering across the group departments. This is an exciting opportunity to gain experience in multi-site retail (100 Branches), manufacturing (5 sites), web sales (3 websites), logistics (2 sites).
The ideal candidate will be CIMA/ACCA qualified, have proven experience in a FM role within a manufacturing and retail operation. You will have a strong background in managing a finance function for businesses with a turnover of at least 75 million across various sites.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise the day-to-day operations of the Finance team - team of 10.
Supervise the day-to-day operations of the Purchase ledger team - team of 7.
Review monthly management accounts for business units within GAP.
Reconciliation, analysis and interpretation of large data sets including sales, COS, margin, stock, debtors and creditors.
Collaboration with IT on various projects including ERP implementation, process improvements.
Review of high volumes of stock transition including finding and understanding reconciliation issues across departments and companies.
Business partnering with departments to "explain the numbers", drive and monitor financial change, financial improvements and efficiencies with the department head.
Margin analysis.
Review of the P&L with supporting commentary.
Review of full balance sheet reconciliations at month end.
Upon review of balance sheet items, make any required provisions - for example Debtors ledger, Stock.
Mentoring and developing Finance team.
Assist and support the FC.
Communicate with external auditors and tax bodies.
Monitor and supervise CID facility including reconciliations and audits.
Requirements:
CIMA/ACCA or QBE Qualified.
Experience of managing a team.
Experience in Preparation of management accounts. Preferably for a large business (turnover of 75mill+) to high standard and in a demanding, pressured, deadline orientate environment.
Confident, a self-starter, with the ability to operate in a dynamic environment and encourage/develop others.
Demonstrates an engaging, can-do, highly visible leadership demeaner. A good portion of this role will involve being a problem solver to the team.
Communication skills to take an active role in the finance team.
Good judgement, showing logical decision making and critical thinking skills.
Proven ability to partner with internal and external customers, partners and stakeholders in a manner that results in mutually positive outcomes and credibility. Influences with impact.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Experience producing accounts for a 75mill+ business.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and complex formulas.
Experience of working in demanding and result orientate environment
Proficiency in handling and analysing large data sets with strong skills in reconciling high transaction volumes.
Must be self-motivated and have a drive to succeed and do well is essential in this role
Experience of business partnering with departmental heads is essential
Experience of analysing and interpretating big tata, experience of high volumes of transactions is essential
