Job Description

Scope of Role



The Finance Manager will oversee all financial operations for the Blackpool Tower and Madam Tussuads ensuring robust planning, compliance, and reporting. This role is critical in driving commercial performance through data-led decision-making, with a strong focus on yield management, spend per head optimisation, stock control, and strategic financial advice to the Senior Leadership Team

Key Responsibilities:Financial Management & Reporting



Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial plans. Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal controls. Liaise with auditors, tax advisors, and funding bodies.

Commercial Analysis & Strategic Advice



Conduct profitability and pricing analysis across business units. Advise SLT on financial proposals, investment cases, and cost-saving initiatives. Support strategic planning with scenario modelling and financial forecasting. Present clear, actionable insights to non-financial stakeholders.

Yield Management



Analyse visitor trends and seasonal demand to optimise pricing. Collaborate with marketing and operations to maximise revenue per capacity. Monitor performance of ticketing, promotions, and bundled offers.

Spend Per Head (SPH) & Operational Collaboration



Work closely with operational teams to identify and implement strategies that increase SPH. Analyse visitor behaviour and purchasing patterns to inform upselling and cross-selling. Support development of new products, packages, and experiences to boost spend. Track SPH performance and report on progress against targets.

Margin Controls



Monitor gross margins across all revenue streams (retail, F&B, attractions). Identify cost inefficiencies and recommend corrective actions. Ensure pricing strategies align with margin targets and business goals. Support procurement and supply chain decisions to protect profitability.

Stock & Inventory Management



Oversee stock control systems across all retail and operational areas. Monitor inventory turnover, reduce waste, and manage stock valuation. Conduct regular stock audits and ensure accurate reporting. Coordinate with procurement to maintain optimal stock levels

Payroll Processing



Manage end-to-end payroll processing for all staff. Ensure compliance with HMRC regulations and pension contributions. Maintain accurate payroll records and reporting. Liaise with HR to ensure timely updates on staffing changes.

Stakeholder Relationship Management



Build strong working relationships with internal departments (Ops, HR, Marketing). t as the primary finance contact for external auditors, banks, and funding bodies. Represent finance in cross-functional meetings and strategic planning sessions. Communicate financial performance and risks clearly to the SLT.

People Management



Lead, mentor, and develop a small finance team. Set clear objectives, provide regular feedback, and conduct performance reviews. Foster a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and collaboration. Identify training needs and support professional development. Ensure effective team communication and workload management.

Person Specifications Essential Qualifications & Experience:



ACA, ACCA, CIMA qualified (or equivalent). Minimum 5 years in a senior finance role, ideally in tourism, leisure, or hospitality. Proven experience in commercial finance, including yield and margin management. Strong background in stock control, payroll, and financial reporting. Experience managing and developing a finance team.

Knowledge & Skills:



Excellent understanding of UK financial regulations and accounting standards. Proficient in financial systems (e.g., Sage, Power BI, Excel). Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to interpret complex data and present insights clearly. Skilled in stakeholder engagement and cross-functional collaboration.

Commercially astute with a proactive, strategic mindset. Strong leadership and team-building capabilities .High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Adaptable, resilient, and solution-focused.

Desirable:



Experience in public sector or grant-funded environments. Familiarity with tourism, attractions, or visitor economy operations. Knowledge of EPOS or inventory management systems.

Pay: 50,000.00-55,000.00 per year
