We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Financial Manager to join our finance team. This is a key role supporting the financial health and compliance of the organisation, with responsibilities spanning management accounts, audit processes, treasury, and purchase ledger oversight. You will play a critical part in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial operations.
What you will be doing:
Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts, including accruals and prepayments.
Preparation on several key balance sheet accounts each month including fixed assets, stock, accruals, prepayments.
Support the annual external audit, ensuring all schedules and documentation are prepared accurately and on time, and liaise directly with external auditors.
Manage daily and weekly cash flow, monitor bank balances, oversee banking relationships, and ensure treasury activities are conducted efficiently and in line with company policies.
Take full ownership of the purchase ledger function including
- Leading and mentoring the purchase ledger team
- Overseeing invoice processing and supplier payments
- Managing supplier queries and building strong supplier relationship
- Ensuring accurate reconciliation of supplier statements and ledgers
Oversee preparation and timely submission of VAT returns, ensuring full compliance with HMRC regulations and internal controls.
Support the ordering and procurement team with financial processes and controls
Play an active role in the implementation of a new finance system (transition from SAGE to D365)
Work closely with commercial teams to support accurate project costing
What we ask from you:
Proven experience in a similar financial or accounting role
Experience managing a small finance or transactional team
Strong understanding of financial processes, accounting standards, and VAT regulations
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
Proficient in financial systems (Dynamics 365 desirable) and Microsoft Excel
Strong interpersonal and communication skills for managing both internal and external relationships
