Finance Manager
reporting to the Managing Director.
The role
This role will play a vital part within the organisation moving forward, bringing financial know how to a growing business, taking the reins from the current incumbent and continuing to drive financial efficiencies, controls and bringing a continued improvement approach to utilising data. This role will manage a small team of part qualified accountants.
About you
The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant or qualified by experience and will have demonstrable experience working with small businesses, either in an advisory capacity (I.e. small practice working alongside multiple clients) or within a SME business in a leadership capacity, (such as a Finance Manager or Financial Controller) utilisation of smaller business systems such as Xero or Sage 50 is useful.
As a Finance Manager, your role will include, but not be limited to:
Managing and developing a small accounting team
Overseeing all financial processing systems, including Sales ledger, Purchase ledger
Payroll, Cash & Bank, Office Management and General ledger, reporting directly to the Directors
Quarterly VAT returns and P11D submissions
Responsibility for the Finance IT systems - both infrastructure and application
Monthly, quarterly and annual reporting on the companies, including the partnership and subsidiary companies (MI including P&L forecasting, cash flow forecasting and ad hoc reporting on various KPIs)
Budgetary planning and control
Manage the year-end audit process and preparation of statutory accounts
Preparation of Financial information for third parties
Treasury Management
Accurate inventory/stock reporting
Insurance renewals
Capital asset management
Carry out projects to reduce financial risks and improve efficiencies
Provide accurate and useful financial data and data analysis to support strategic decision-making
Research and report on factors influencing business performance
Liaising with external stakeholders to ensure statutory reporting is delivered on time and seamlessly
Arranging competitive sources of finance for the company's debt facilities
Keeping abreast of changes in financial regulations and legislation
What the client has to offer
A salary of 50,000 - 60,000 per annum
