Long established, family-run business, Construction & Real Estate Limited, are looking to hire someone for the role of
Finance Manager, starting salary 50,000 p.a.
Construction & Real Estate Limited is a multifaceted business that encompasses property management, maintenance, property development, refurbishment and repairs for both commercial and residential buildings. We own property and manage client portfolios. We specialise in Grade II Listed Buildings.
Key Responsibilities:
Budgeting & Forecasting:
Produce annual budgets for each property using past data and collaboration with Site & Operations Manager
Produce 12-24 month rolling budgets (income vs expenditure)
Capital expenditure forecasting for planned upgrades and compliance work
Scenario based forecasts: best case, worst case, realistic
Quick responses to 'Can we afford X this month' queries from maintenance team with justification behind answer
Financial Reporting:
Produce Annual Reports presenting a variety of information including portfolio summaries, the budgets vs actuals from the previous year, key performance data, analysis of the findings and detailed commentary
Produce Quarterly Reports (management accounts) to show budgets vs actual income & expenditure with variances explained, property by property performance, trend analysis of operational costs and creative control over any other valuable details believed to be beneficial
Collaborate with wider team:
Collaborate with colleagues to produce budgets and Reports, monitor financial performance per property and implement improvements
Provide leadership to the accounting team, ensuring mentoring, delegation, and high standards of accuracy and performance
Liaise with external accountants in year-end work
Ability to present data visually with detailed commentary to both finance and non-finance personnel internally and externally to the company
Provide financial insights to support strategic decision making
Assist in the development and implementation of financial systems, processes and management
Skills required by the successful candidate:
Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) Mandatory
Minimum of 3+ years in finance or accounting role
Advanced skills in Xero accounts software and Excel
Exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills
Proactive, solutions-oriented and ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
Experience in property management/ development industry
Strong leadership skills
Comfortable working in a small team being able to do a range of tasks and where required low level tasks to support own high-level work
