As part of our continued growth, we are seeking a

Finance Manager

to join our

Severn Valley regional office

. This is a key role within the regional Finance team, supporting the effective management of day-to-day finances and budgets.

This is a hands-on position requiring strong experience in financial management, analysis, and reporting. You will play a vital role in maintaining sound financial control and contributing to longer-term financial planning and decision-making. The role suits someone who thrives in a busy environment, enjoys collaboration, and can lead and develop a small finance team while contributing to the wider regional leadership team.

Key Responsibilities

Manage the day-to-day running of the Finance Department and deputise for the Finance Director when required Lead and develop a small finance team, providing mentorship and ongoing support Take a proactive approach to identifying, investigating, and resolving financial issues Prepare monthly Management Accounts and balance sheet reconciliations Conduct detailed variance analysis and provide insight into financial performance Monitor budgets and report on variances Oversee cost control processes and identify opportunities for cost savings Manage project budgets and ensure cost-effective resource allocation Ensure compliance with accounting standards, statutory requirements, and internal policies Collaborate with senior management and other departments to support overall business objectives Prepare divisional monthly VAT returns Produce Completion Statements for plot sales Post journals and report on Sales and Build progress Prepare weekly cashflow forecasts Administer payroll for weekly paid waged employees Manage CITB Levy administration and grant applications Ensure effective communication and workflow across departments Prepare year-end packs and liaise with external auditors Reconcile and make payment of monthly PAYE Complete CIS monthly returns

Desirable Skills & Experience

Professionally qualified accountant (ACCA / ACA / CIMA) desirable Proven experience in a Finance Manager or Management Accounting role Experience within construction or housebuilding beneficial but not essential Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to prioritise workload and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment Strong attention to detail Flexible, proactive, and solution-focused mindset Strong IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel Knowledge of COINS advantageous Ability to embrace and role-model our company values:
