Modus is a growing Business to Business group based in South Somerset. The business forms part of a world-wide group and with significant inward investment is looking to expand existing operations in the UK over the coming years. We are seeking a Finance Manager to supervise the day-to-day finance function, produce both weekly and monthly reporting packs, enhance reporting capabilities and become an integral part of the senior management group.

The Role

will include:

As Finance Manager you will supervise the finance function, improve existing systems and processes and implement new reporting processes and dashboards whilst supporting the Finance Director. The role combines hands-on financial management with commercial oversight.

You will need to be able to work in a fast-paced SME environment and possess excellent communication skills across the whole organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervise the finance function, in particular banking, invoicing and review of sales and purchase ledgers. Maintain balance sheet control accounts, stock accounts and reports, and fixed asset registers. Deliver accurate and timely, weekly KPIs and sales forecasts, and monthly management accounts pack. Use, develop and implement systems and controls to improve reporting and governance. Manage and support our Finance Assistant, providing guidance and support to help them grow while ensuring the finance function runs efficiently and effectively - this but different Prepare working files for VAT reporting (UK and French) and file UK VAT returns. Prepare statutory accounts packs and act as point of contact for auditors. Build and maintain robust stakeholder relationships, including with auditors, banks and HMRC. Lead ad hoc financial projects as necessary.
