TITLE: Finance Business Partner - Corporate & Institutional Business (CIB)


LOCATION: Bristol (occasional travel to London when required)


WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our office sites

This is your chance to bring your experience to a Finance Business Partner (FBP) role to support and drive forward the Corporate and Institutional Banking business (CIB).




CIB serves our largest clients both in the UK and internationally through a strategy of deepening relationships, expanding Institutional Coverage and supporting the Group's broader growth ambitions. Our business model - centred on supporting clients with Debt, Cash and Risk Management products is seen as a key differentiator in the market.




The CIB FBP team sits within a wider CB Finance Business Partnering function which also faces off the Business and Commercial Banking side of the business. We are a team of c30 colleagues with a diverse set of backgrounds allowing us to bring different experiences and perspectives when supporting our stakeholders. As a FBP you will partner stakeholders across the CIB business and finance, providing financial support at a Managing Director level supported by a Senior Finance Manager. You'll bring the whole suite of Finance to the business to support and challenge growth.



Day to day you will:



Build positive relationships, communicate with the business and other stakeholders Deliver regular and ad hoc financial performance updates, reviewing and controlling these before they reach our partners Support the business in making strategic decisions around pricing, proposition and Investment including our 2026+ strategy Learn the business, show curiosity to understand performance and processes and build new analysis, interpreting data from various sources Forecasting and Planning to help set strategic direction , providing challenge to ensure we meet our financial commitments Build an in depth knowledge on how the Division allocates scarce resources, across Costs and Capital providing to advise the business on how to improve returns Support our Transformation journey Provide guidance on technical accounting / proposed benefits of new deals and products

What you will need



A curiosity to learn about the business, performance and our processes to deliver insight, control and challenge An ability to proactively interpret performance & deals using a variety of sources and articulate this clearly to a variety of stakeholders An ability to build trusted relationships with a variety of people and teams and work with those teams to support our purpose and goals A desire to continually improve our offering to stakeholders & stretch yourself to do so. Finance qualification (fully qualified), ACA, ACCA / CIMA Experience in Business partnering and challenging / influencing Senior Stakeholders to drive business performance forwards using persuasive relationship management Experience in Forecasting and Planning Agility and strong prioritisation skills to manage the demands of the business Commercial Acumen - using understanding to challenge performance and advice on actions to improve Change adoption - actively embraces change and drives improvements to enhance efficiency allowing more focus on most valuable activities
