What you'll do
As the Finance Manager - Data & Insight for Logistics at Sainsbury's, you will be pivotal in creating valuable assets to effectively business partner, focusing on value creation and strengthening overall performance. Your role will involve providing timely and accurate analysis, translating data into strategic business insight, and communicating financial and non-financial information to stakeholders to drive informed decisions and actions that enhance the bottom line. You will interpret management reporting, build strategic business cases, support post-implementation reviews, and engage with various teams and projects to drive improvements and manage strategic initiatives. Additionally, you will enhance reporting capabilities, streamline processes, and utilise systemic tools to showcase storytelling and add value to the data, contributing to the overall success of the business area.

Essential Criteria

• Demonstrable financial analysis for decision-making; Evidence of analysing and interpreting financial and large sets of operational data to inform business decisions and influence financial performance
• Demonstrable experience of using appropriate systemic tools to review and enhance data including Power BI, SQ and Alteryx (Snowflake is desirable)
• Effective stakeholder communication at senior level; Proven ability to present financial information clearly in written and verbal formats and to constructively challenge senior stakeholders with varying levels of financial understanding
• Commercial understanding of business drivers; Demonstrated capability to identify and evaluate key commercial and operational drivers, linking upstream and downstream activity to financial outcomes
• Delivery of change in dynamic environments; Evidence of leading or contributing to change initiatives, while prioritising workload and managing multiple stakeholder expectations in a fast-paced environment
