The Senior Finance Manager - External Reporting is a member of the team which ensures the accurate and efficient accounting, consolidation and external reporting for Whitbread PLC and subsidiary undertakings.

Location:

Dunstable, hybrid- a minimum of 3 days per week in the office.

What you'll do:

Current external reporting disclosures are made in line with prevailing accounting standards and legal requirements Future external reporting disclosures and requirements are monitored and communicated to relevant stakeholders to ensure we are prepared ahead of being required to disclose To make sure a true and fair set of financial statements are delivered through the year-end audit process Uphold a strong and effective engagement relationship with external auditors is maintained, whilst targeting no audit overruns Prepare and/or review accounting papers for presentation by senior stakeholders to the Audit Committee at reporting periods Ensure internal accounting policies are appropriate, fit for use by wider finance and consistent with IFRS Ensure all accounting requirements are captured and communicated to the wider finance teams Financial change management - supporting Finance implement business change projects whilst maintaining reporting accuracy and financial control

What we need:

Qualified Accountant with detailed up-to date knowledge of IFRS, UK GAAP and experience with mutli-currency consolidation processes Excellent technical accounting skills and ability to communicate to a variety of senior audiences by way of technical papers and presentations Experience working with or for a large, listed business including experience of technical research on complex IFRS accounting matters and of planning and delivering audit process
