We are seeking a skilled and motivated Finance Manager to join our growing social enterprise based in South-west Glasgow. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in overseeing financial operations, ensuring compliance with regulations, and driving the financial strategy to support the organisation's growth aspirations. This position requires strong leadership abilities and a comprehensive understanding of financial management practices.
Responsibilities
To lead the finance and procurement functions, providing guidance and support to team members. The post holder will also oversee day-to-day financial and management accounting processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant standards in addition to year-end audit and statutory accounts preparation and submission.
Working with the CEO the finance manager will help develop and implement financial planning strategies to optimise resource allocation, drive cost control and ensure that we are getting best value from our measures to enhance profitability and operational efficiency.
In line with normal reporting practices the finance manager will prepare detailed financial reports for the charity's board and senior management, highlighting key issues against agreed performance indicators.
A high degree of collaborate with other departments is expected in order to align financial goals with organisational objectives.
Experience
- Proven experience in a finance management role, demonstrating strong leadership capabilities.
- In-depth knowledge of financial accounting principles and practices.
- Experience in the preparation of monthly management accounts, including cashflow.
- Annual budget preparation.
- a Working knowledge of Sage 50 is a requirement.
- Experience in managing credit control and sales invoicing process.
- Strong background in financial planning and analysis within a SME environment.
- Familiarity with charity finance regulatory requirements is advantageous but not a necessity.
- Demonstrated ability in financial management and cost control strategies.
The post holder will have the option to work between home and office on an agreed cycle taking into account the needs and requirements of the role.
